MEETINGS

The next meeting is scheduled for MARCH 10 , 2010  ( Please be aware that the third shift meetings will again be coupled with the day shift meetings.  Also be aware that the times for the first and second shift meetings has been changed to correspond to the change in shift hours for the LLC.  The new times are 3:30 pm and 11:30 pm.

The following is a list ot the actions taken on the current grievances at the local's FEBRUARY E-Board meeting. The FEBRUARY membership meeting was canceled because of snow. The membership maintains the power to move grievances on, or to drop action.  So come to the meetings, find out the details on all the issues, and exercise your voting power.  For privacy reasons, the names of the grievants have been reduced to initials only.  Having started in May, 2007,  the dues are now collected on a percentage basis on regular straight time pay.  This makes it far easier for union members to figure out if the company has deducted the correct amount.  It should also be easier for the company to compute the correct amounts.  The percentage basis will be required by 2011 with the Steelworkers.  Also at that time, the deduction will be applied to overtime earnings.   Overtime will NOT be used to compute dues with this change!  Overtime will be used to compute dues starting in 2011.
